Round the Isle of Wight Match Race
Join the yachts at 8am for a quick safety brief, before we motor out of the River Hamble to our start line off Cowes. Then it is your first chance to experience the excitement of racing against a matched yacht as we hoist sails and begin the battle, all under the guidance of our experienced professional Skipper and Mate.
Then we will race out of the Solent and into the open water on the South side of the Isle of Wight, all the time keeping a close eye on the performance of the other yacht and ensuring that we are achieving the best possible speeds to win the race. About 6 hours later we will return back into the Solent where both navigation and boat speed play an important part in determining the winner in this closely fought race as we return to the finish line off Cowes. You will have plenty of opportunity to put any existing sailing skills into practice and learn new ones during this hands on, exhilarating day of racing.
In the event that weather conditions are not suitable for a safe rounding of the Isle of Wight, the course for the race may be changed to an alternative equivalent route.
Where we sail: From Hamble Point Marina in Hamble
