Ocean Race Yacht SOLENT Match Race
After meeting our crew in the morning you will be shown to your yacht where you will meet your team for the day and receive a short safety brief before slipping lines and motoring out into open water. Then it's a morning of training as our professional crew guide you through all the manoeuvres and get you working as part of a slick racing team.
After a brief lunch it is time to put all the training into practice as the Clipper 60s come together for a match race through the Solent. The course will depend on wind and tides, but this is your chance to pit your skills against the other team as you take part in a closely fought race aboard these identical matched yachts.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a true racing team including working on the foredeck for sail hoists, drops and changes and in the cockpit on the winches as well as taking the wheel to steer in this exciting contest. Finally one of the yachts will be declared the winner before dropping sails and heading back up the River Hamble after an exhilarating day's racing.
